I don't know why it can't be the same here. Many of the early badniks require different methods to attack, and certain parts cannot be attack or Sonic is damaged. Its an additional path that you can take, but it isn't a requirement to take it.Īlso, Homing Attack doesn't always have to be the only option to kill enemies. Obviously, though, as people above said, this should be OPTIONAL, but that's the beauty of it. With a homing attack, a line of enemies could be put in certain spots that would allow Sonic to get to a higher ledger he couldn't normally reach. Homing Attack gives Sonic his quick dash to get across large gaps that he couldn't possibly make with a regular jump, and there's something else that it could do, too-add more paths for Sonic to take.

Knuckles pretty much destroys everything during his glides (except when projectiles are thrown at him), but Sonic only has the insta-shield.

For one, it gives Sonic a decent 'Double-A' move to counter Tails' flight and Knuckles' glide. I can think of a number of ways that Homing Attacks can be useful. I just won't use it unless, of course, its an obligation at some part of the game (I'll hate it if its force then). But even I, as a retro fan, am not accepting it at 100% in this specific game but meh. Retro fans may or may not accept it even tho they won't use it, tho I got a strong feeling most of them will throw it out of the window. Yes even at Sky Babylon with what long path with hovering bots, you just gotta find the way to get to the upper path cause Iwon't say it.Īnyway to conclude my saying about the homming attack. In the rush series, the homming attack was there but you were able to complete the game 100% (A ranks stage included) without it. if they added this ability does it mean that there are gonna be 1 or 2 stage where we'll be forced to use it or not. i'm not gonna use it at all even if its in the game'. Some are gonna say it doesn't have its place here and others will accept it but! some are gonna ignore it and will say 'duh. its a retro game wich means the game is suppose to be like in the classic days.

Tho the main issue about the homming being in this game specificly is that. I got nothing against the homming attack, sure it was useful in 3D game as it was a simple way of attacking enemies without unforgivingly missing them when you jump on 'em but in a 2D game? It depends on how it functions of course.
